MEDICAL EDUCATION AND ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS
Dr. Owen attended the University of Southern California with degrees in Bacteriology and Medicine. He received his internship and part of his specialty training at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Oakland, California. His specialty training was concluded at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital and the Los Angeles Eye & Ear Hospital (U.S.C.). He was then honored with the degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. While in the Navy, Dr. Owen was Chief of Ear, Nose and Throat Department, U.S. Naval Hospital, Haven and was awarded a Commendation by the Surgeon General of the U.S. Navy. Dr. Owen received teaching appointments from the University of
Southern California, teaching part time for 15 years.
